City of Hilliard to Become a Keep America Beautiful Affiliate

The City of Hilliard continually strives to be a leader in community sustainability. To keep this goal in the forefront, the City is in the process of becoming a Keep America Beautiful (KAB) affiliate. We have already begun the process after being awarded a Litter Prevention Grant through the Ohio EPA to cover the one-time certification fee to become a KAB affiliate.

For more than 60 years, KAB and its affiliates have helped communities become more beautiful through educational programs, litter prevention, recycling, waste reduction, and beautification programs. By becoming an affiliate, Hilliard hopes to engage more businesses and residents in keeping Hilliard clean and green.  The resources made available will allow Hilliard to see what initiatives are working around the country, and how they can be adapted to the unique needs of our community.

In fact, Hilliard has already begun to see the benefits of its KAB affiliation. Our Rec. and Parks Department was able to secure additional recycling bins through a KAB grant, which you may have noticed if you were at the Tree Lighting last month. Through its KAB affiliation, Hilliard hopes to become a model community for our region and beyond when it comes to litter prevention, recycling, and environmental sustainability!
