What if we told you that we’d held a collection for electronic waste a couple of weeks ago and that it was held from 9 am to noon on a Tuesday morning… and also that it was a brisk 35 degrees that morning? How many cars would you guess visited us to drop off items for recycling? Ten? Twenty?
Would you believe it if we told that by the end of that third hour, 66 cars had dropped off 2,346 lbs. of electronic waste?!
Apparently the good people of Hilliard have a lot of busted and outdated electronic technology around because that was the haul! Thank you for disposing of your e-waste responsibly.
Accurate IT Recycling Services of Columbus picked up those 2,346 lbs. from the Hilliard Municipal Building. Included in the haul were computers, lots of VCRs and copy machines and at least one of each of the following, by our recollection: a power saw, a Casiotone keyboard, a lawnmower battery and a robot vacuum cleaner.
Accurate IT holds certifications from Responsible Recycling, OHSAS and IOS, ensuring that the physical material they receive is properly recycled or reused. Their certification by NIST ensures that the data contained on the recycled devices are properly wiped.
Another collection of e-waste will be held during our Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 27.
