Hilliard Virtual Earth Week!
March 22, 2021Hilliard Virtual Earth Week Continues!
April 22, 2021Local government officials around the nation are taking action to help save the monarch butterfly, an iconic species whose eastern populations have declined by 90% and western populations by 99% in recent years. Through the National Wildlife Federations Mayors’ Monarch Pledge, US cities, municipalities, and other communities are committing to create habitat for the monarch butterfly and pollinators, and to educate residents about how they can make a difference at home and in their community (The National Wildlife Federation, 2021). Hilliard’s Environmental Sustainability Commission recently took the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge. We are excited to learn more about restoring the Monarch’s natural habitat in a responsible way. Learn more about the monarch butterflies by visiting the National Wildlife Federation, and stay tuned for more information on what Hilliard is doing to help save the Monarch Butterfly.
