Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz 2025
Did you know that about 30% of food crops depend pollinators to reproduce?
But pollinator populations are in decline.
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, join us at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park for the Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz from 11 a.m. — 2 p.m. for a fun, hands-on event to help our pollinators.
So, what’s a BioBlitz? It's like a nature treasure hunt using the free app iNaturalist.
Participants explore the park and use the app to snap photos of butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. Every photo helps researchers and park managers understand and protect the habitats these creatures rely on.
There will be lots of fun activities for the family. Kids can chalk the walkway, color butterflies, and chat with scientists from ScottsMiracle-Gro about the incredible insects they discover. We can learn together how pollinators keep our flowers blooming and our food growing.
The Parks for Pollinators event is coordinated by the National Recreation and Park Association, with support from The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation. Together, we're all making a difference!
Pollinators are critical for a healthy food system and environment. This event is a chance to celebrate them while giving back to nature.
