UPDATE: Harmful Algal Blooms
August 19, 2020Fall Colors? Stay Green!
September 20, 2020Come join the ESC in a national movement! Keep America Beautiful® is hosting its 2nd annual TrashDash plogging event and fun run, and you are invited to join virtually.
What’s “plogging,” you ask? Plogging is the combination of picking up litter while jogging. The event planners envision the targeted removal of thousands of pounds of litter from across America.  While our area is typically a lower pollution area, let’s take the day and tidy up the sidewalks, trails, and parks that we enjoy.
You are invited to run, walk or jog individually or with family or friends. Your health and safety is important to us. We encourage adherence to COVID-19 related guidelines to the greatest extent possible. Please use either a grabber or rubber gloves when picking up litter, please sanitize often throughout the event, please keep your distance from those not in your quarantine pod, and fashionable masks make for great accessorizing as well as safe gatherings outdoors.
Recycle or dispose of any collected materials in your curbside bins on trash day. If you find an area in the City of Hilliard that is very polluted or items too large to carry, please note the location and contact the city for assistance by visiting hilliard.mobile311.com – or – by calling (614) 876-7361 ext. 311.
The following link will provide further information and a simple way to register for this free event. Please register so that the Hilliard area will be well represented in the count of national participants.
