November 20, 2020Polystyrene Recycling Collection — January 2, 2021
December 22, 2020The Go Green Hilliard program aims to help City of Hilliard residents conserve energy, protect our environment, and help make our community more sustainable. You can easily join the pledge program online.
The pledges are a commitment to developing greener habits and helping our community. If you’re already doing some of these, it’s also great resource for additional ways to practice and promote sustainability. The City of Columbus has a similar GreenSpot program.
Go Green Hilliard and Columbus GreenSpot pledge goals include:
• Purchasing used or refurbished furniture and appliances
• Donating or repurposing items that no longer spark joy
• Switching to paperless billing, newsletters, and memos
• Composting food scraps at home (or Hilliard’s new compost collection site)
• Shopping and eating locally
• Joining community clean-up activities
Both programs have categories with tips and actions for households, businesses, and community groups. Members of either program have the option to be listed in an online directory and share their commitment to sustainability. After signing either pledge, you you’ll also receiving a window cling to display at your home or business.
