The Earth Day collection last month was a resounding success! Although each of our collections were impressive, we are happy to say that our electronics collections partner, RenTek, was able to collect 5,580 lbs total of electronic items, the second largest collection to date with Hilliard ESC.Â
They can use the materials to teach over 139 hours of job skills to the men and women in their training programs:
RenTek provides workforce development and job readiness opportunities through our strategic partnerships with many organizations. Our mission is to utilize technology to improve individuals, communities, and our world.We offer career assessment opportunities and internships to individuals with Down syndrome, autism and all development disabilities.
Participants in our program learn job discovery, team work, crew work and skill building. Supported employment is a system of support for people with disabilities in regards to ongoing employment with a variety of work assignments. Our participants work on dismantling electronics and sorting materials for further processing.
